kates baby shower

it has been baby shower mania in my life lately. SO many friends welcoming new little ones into the world. a few weeks ago we celebrated sweet kate and her baby. I made her this fun mobile
{side note: while I was making it jordan asked, "don't people usually just buy those?" someone clearly doesn't appreciate handmade art. haha}
I do love baby showers! I love the girl talk and all the cute tiny clothes. can't wait for babies of my own someday!

raindrops keep falling on my head

in honor of the grey sky and soggy air we've had all week (boo) here's a post about some prettier rain.
DIY baby mobile
needed (can be found at any craft store):
+pretty paper
+scissors
+glue
+small pinhead needles
+tulle
+styrofoam circle
+batting
+string
+tape
tie pieces of tulle around styrofoam
glue batting in sections around top and bottom of your ring
make a raindrop stencil with some card stock
use stencil to cute raindrops from you pretty paper
glue two raindrops together with string running down the middle
repeat with desired number of raindrops and pin strings to styrofoam
pull your tulle ties together and tie a knot
wrap ends in a loop for hanging (I made a bow around that for cuteness factor)
TADA!

baby to be

last weekend whitney & I threw a little shower for hannah! like a total idiot I brought my camera with no memory card in it. (BOO!) the pictures are therefore limited, but I'm glad we got a few. we served brunch foods because everyone knows breakfast is the best. we munched, chatted, and had a great time.
 so happy for you hannah!

dawn's shower

wendesday night we celebrated dawn and the bun in her oven. I have to tell you she is one of the cutest pregnant women I have ever seen. she's always got her hands resting on what looks like a basketball under her shirt. I hope and pray I am as graceful and glowing as she is when I get knocked up.
anyways it was the most beautiful night up on the rooftop and it reminded me how much I love new york. september is heavenly here.
heather made the most ridiculous cupcakes. orange dreamsicle.
